Watford MP Dean Russell attended a coffee morning and community event hosted by Community Connex at Holy Rood Church in Watford.
The local community were invited to chat to their local MP over tea and coffee at the church, and to raise any local issues.
Community Connex is a charity that provides a fulfilling service for people with learning disabilities, autism, additional needs and their families. They work to support the health and social care of individuals and communities in and around West London, and bring similar people together to improve their lives.
One of the services they offer is People Connex, which include community activities, events and volunteering opportunities. The scheme is open to everyone, regardless of ability, to prevent social isolation and reduce loneliness. The community event provided an opportunity for those with disabilities to find out more about upcoming People Connex events and activities.
Dean Russell MP said, ‘I have met with Community Connex on a number of occasions, and I am delighted they have held their first event here in Watford. I had a great time catching up with the members of Community Connex and it was fantastic to see the work they do to support their service users whilst having fun at the same time.’
