The Prime Minister is incredibly proud that there are 5.5 million small businesses in this country.
- 5.5 million stories of graft, hard work, and hope
- 5.5 million stories of people who've taken a huge risk in creating a business, boosting our economy and creating jobs
- 5.5 million small business owners who want to build a better future for themselves, their family and their employees
Prime Minister supports small businesses, and supports those who take huge risks to create jobs and deliver innovation in this country.
This week, he has announced
1) Less red tape
We're simplifying regulations, saving small businesses around £150 million per year.
Including redefining what a small business is, to save thousands of businesses excess paperwork.
2) More funding for apprenticeships
We're introducing a new £60 million fund that will enable small businesses to hire up to 20,000 new apprentices. Including paying the full cost of training for anyone up to the age of 21.
Helping small businesses expand their team, and helping young people kickstart their career.
3) Abolishing the unfair double tax on work
With your support, we’ll make progress towards abolishing the unfair double tax on work in the next Parliament. By abolishing National Insurance Contributions.
We're already a third of the way there, with NICs down from 12% last year to 8% this April. Saving a British worker on the average salary £900 a year.
And we've also abolished Class 2 NICs, which saves the average self-employed person £650 a year.
