Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS UK) was pleased to announce their involvement in the UK Parliament Week (UKPW), which took place on the 3rd of November, 2023. This year's event, now in its 7th year, was hosted at The Grange Academy in Watford & Bushey.
UK Parliament Week is a nationwide initiative encouraging community engagement and promoting the awareness of democratic processes and participation in the UK. HSS UK, a dedicated participant in this event, was happy to return to in-person celebrations with strong local support.
Last year's UK Parliament Week activities witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 1400 individuals, representing 45 HSS chapters, 34 Constituencies & Council wards, and engaged 44 MPs, local councillors and Mayors in promoting the message of democracy.
A key highlight this year was the presentation of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh UK Impact Storybook, a compilation of HSS UK's contributions and experiences, which has been shared with The House of Commons, House of Lords, and The Speaker's Office.
HSS UK has been recognised for its significant commitment to promoting democracy and community engagement. In 2020, HSS UK received the prestigious "UK Parliament Week Official Partner of The Year" award. Their initiatives have garnered praise from prominent figures such as the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and the then Lord's Speaker, Lord Fowler. In addition, a podcast featuring a conversation with the Leader of the House of Commons allowed HSS UK to convey their core message of "Sewa" (service to others), "Sanskar" (universal values), and "Sangathan" (community spirit).
