Dean Russell returned once again to Vicarage Road to support another fantastic initiative by the Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust
Step Up is a unique stair-climbing challenge event which takes place at Vicarage Road Stadium, the home of Watford FC. Participants are invited to run, walk, or climb the stands as they raise funds for the Watford FC CSE Trust and the West Herts Hospitals Charity, the official charity for the West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Hundreds of participants starting from the age of 6 took on the challenge, clocking up 1750 steps over 102 floors, which is the equivalent of climbing up and down the Empire State Building.
The popular event was sponsored by the Anytime Fitness clubs in Croxley Park and Bushey, along with CMR Surgical, as part of their commitment to promoting health and wellbeing within the local community.
Dean Russell said “Step-up is probably one of my favourite events to attend in Watford, it is fantastic to see people of all ages having fun for a great cause, in an iconic setting here in Watford. It was a pleasure to hand out medals to those completing the challenge, and thanks to the organisers for inviting me to join them once again at their wonderful event. Watford FC is so much more than a football club. They are an integral part of our town and I was delighted to be able to support their Community Sports and Education Trust today.”
