Local MP Dean Russell recently visited the Wenzel’s Head Office and Bakery based near Watford. Having been established in 1975, the bakers have since become a renowned favourite all over Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and North West London.
Having now expanded to 103 locations, the family business focus on delivering a wide range of fantastic and tasty baked goods at a reasonable price to their customers. Despite their rapid expansion, the 24-hour operation they run allows them to never compromise on freshness, and Wenzel’s pride themselves on remaining a handcrafted bakery.
Mr. Russell met with Head office staff including Operations Director Ross Robins, and Chairman Peter Wenzel, to discuss the community work they are doing, as well as how they are becoming a more sustainable business.
Wenzel’s have partnered with Too Good To Go, an app and online platform that allows users to purchase surplus food at a discounted price, instead of it going to waste.
Operations Director Ross Robins said "It was great to have Dean Russell MP visit our Head Office and Bakery, and to share our joint passion for the local community and the businesses that make it thrive. Here at Wenzel’s we not only have a passion for the business, but also for making a positive difference in people’s lives, and we look forward to working with Dean more in the future."
Dean Russell said, "It was fantastic to see how Wenzel’s run their operation, with now over 100 locations they have brought countless jobs to Watford and the surrounding areas. It is also great to hear about their engagement with the local community, including charity work and the apprenticeship programmes they offer to young people coming out of school."
