Local MP Dean Russell was recently invited to visit the Gopuff micro-fulfilment centre, based in Watford.
Gopuff is an online consumer and goods delivery service operating 40 sites across the UK. Having started in the United States, Gopuff formally launched in the UK in 2021. The online consumer and goods delivery service operates across 40 sites in the UK and employ more than 1,200 people, many of whom are based in Watford.
The site based in the Penfold Trading Estate partners with other local brands so they can reach more customers with home-grown products they are seeking, allowing local suppliers and sole traders to increase their reach through their channels.
From the order coming through to filling the bag before handing it to the delivery driver, Dean learnt about the process of how the company works. Through its own innovative technology, Gopuff accurately delivers goods to customers quickly and effectively.
Dean Russell said, ‘it was great to visit the Gopuff micro-fulfilment centre in Watford today, where I got to see the work they do and speak to employees about their role. I learnt about the fantastic work Gopuff do working closely with other local traders and suppliers which promotes Watford businesses, and also how they are focus on reducing food waste by offering food as reduced prices.’
