Arriva had announced that it would sadly withdraw the 328 Service on the 2nd June, but Hertfordshire Council has stepped in and confirmed that it will be taken over by Red Rose Travel.
Hertfordshire Council is subsidising the route and there will be a temporary timetable in place for a short period of time whilst the changeover happen. The precise route will be confirmed shortly.
I wrote to Arriva asking them to reconsider, and also to Hertfordshire Council asking them to intervene. I am pleased that Hertfordshire Council listened to my suggestion and has announced the additional funding as this service is a lifeline for so many.
Congratulations to the residents who organised a petition which attracted over 1200 signatures. This shows the strength of feeling in the community.
