Watford MP Dean Russell joined local charity ‘Alternatives’ on the High Street as they celebrated the 10th Birthday of their Watford store.
The charity initially launched in 2002, and chose the name ‘Alternatives’ to highlight that, for those facing pregnancy-related challenges, they exist to provide alternatives. Their core aim is to offer life-changing emotional and practical support for anyone facing pregnancy-related challenges. Following a very successful period in Watford and the opening of their first store, Alternatives opened a second Pregnancy Support Centre and Mother & Baby Charity Shop in Hemel Hempstead in October 2019.
Speaking at the visit Dean said “It was fantastic to return to Alternatives to celebrate with the wonderful staff, volunteers and supporters. As I’ve said before, they offer really good quality second hand clothes, equipment, toys and books for babies and for mums-to-be, and I would like to put on record my thanks to all of those who work tirelessly to ensure the charity can thrive and continue to support those facing pregnancy-related challenges.
The income they make from the shop helps support their invaluable counselling services, so if you have items to donate please do consider giving to Alternatives.”
