World Book Day is an annual event which is embraced by schools and groups across Watford. The charity is sponsored by National Book Tokens and through their work with partners, share their commitment to changing lives through a love of books and reading.
The emphasis this year was making the event YOUR World Book Day. This event has been celebrated for more than 25 years, and has grown to become an essential part of the calendar for schools, groups and communities.
Dean said, 'I would like to congratulate the many schools in Watford who took such an active part in World Book Day. The children's costumes were fantastic and it was wonderful to see the celebrations online and in the local printed newspapers. As an author of children's books, I know the excitement children get from opening up the pages and losing themselves in the stories and the animations. I believe reading is vitally important to learn new things, help self-exploration and to improve our mental health'.
