This week in the House of Commons, MPs debated the Finance Bill and Treasury Minister Jesse Norman singled out Dean along with two other colleagues during the debate. Having been pressed on the matter prior to the debate by the MP for Watford, Jesse Norman said in the Chamber that Dean has been amongst the most vocal advocates for reform on IR35.
Dean Russell said that “I do speak to Jesse about IR35 whenever I get the opportunity as I know it affects a number of people in our constituency. “
The Government extending the off-payroll legislation provides time for the Treasury to utilise the valid report from the House of Lords.
Please be rest assured I will continue to be amongst the most vocal advocates for the reform of IR35. I very much believe that freelancers, contractors and small businesses will be crucial to the UK’s economic recovery.”
