As the Conservative Party Conference drew to a close, the Prime Minister spoke passionately about her vision for building a stronger, more resilient, and more secure United Kingdom. She spoke of her plan to get Britain moving, and her determination to unleash the full potential of the UK.
The government wants to ensure that working people can retain as much of their hard-earned money as possible, with the Prime Minster sharing her view that “you know best how to spend your own money to get on in life and to realise your ambitions."
There was a standing ovation as the Prime Minister spoke of our unwavering support for Ukraine and plans to increase defence spending.
She spoke of the need to build roads, rail, and energy infrastructure quicker and to be pro-growth, pro-aspiration and pro-enterprise. The Prime Minister also committed to ensuring that European judges cannot overrule UK courts and ditching all remaining EU red tape.
The NHS continues to be a priority, and there will be improvements to A&E Departments, quicker ambulance response times, and a social care system that works for all that need it.
Following the speech Dean said, “The Prime Minister gave a powerful speech which was warmly received by members and MP's. Liz Truss promised to deal with soaring energy prices faced by households and businesses, and she has been true to her word. An average household won't pay more than £2500 a year (for the next 2 years) whilst the energy market gets back on track.
"The Prime Minister is on the side of hard-working people and wants to provide opportunities for everyone, wherever they live. The levelling up agenda is a key priority and we will see long and sustained investment across the United Kingdom.
