Watford MP Dean Russell hosted an event in Parliament in partnership with Patient Safety Learning, a charity and independent voice for patient safety and the Safety for All campaign, which seeks to improve patient and staff safety in the NHS and social care.
Speaking after the event Dean said “The significant pressure and impact on the NHS and social care during the Coronavirus pandemic has really highlighted the need to prioritise the improvement of patient and workplace safety.
"This is something that my colleagues and I on the Health and Social Care Select Committee have spent many hours discussing, particularly how the voices of patients must be heard so that we can prevent and reduce patient safety incidents but also the need to look after the health and safety of those who care for us.
"I would like to thank those that attended to support improvements in patient and healthcare worker safety, and I look forward to continuing discussions with Committee colleagues.”
