Dean sat on the Health & Social Care committee this week. As the committee was talking about workforce training, recruitment and retention in the NHS, Dean asked about whether there's an opportunity to train older people, who may have not thought of it when they were younger or who may have dropped out early, to become doctors to help boost numbers.
The panel consisted of Professor Roger Kirby (President at Royal Society of Medicine), Professor Colin Melville (Medical Director and Director of Education and Standards at General Medical Council), Dr Latifa Patel (Interim Chair at British Medical Association) and Professor Malcolm Reed (Lead Co-Chair at Medical Schools Council).
