Watford MP Dean Russell won a prestigious distinguished leadership award at the Euroknowledge Leadership Awards ceremony in the House of Lords.
Fellow winners of awards at the event included prominent global leaders including Kanya King MBE the internationally renowned CEO and founder of the MOBO awards, The Lord John Bird MBE, founder of the Big Issue, Nic Careem, philanthropist and founder of the Blue Sky Network and Mrs Masami Saionji, Chairperson of the World Peace Prayer Society.
The awards celebrated individuals for their leadership in philanthropy and making positive change around the world. Previous Euroknowledge Awardees and Speakers include Rabbi David Hulbert, Baroness Martha Osamor, AI expert Mark Minevich and former Canadian Trade and Industry Minister Christian Paradis.
After receiving the award from MOBO founder Kanya King, Dean said “To be recognised alongside such incredible global leaders for my leadership and philanthropic work is truly humbling - especially given the calibre of other attendees.
"I have had a passion for charity and community for many years and had never expected to win an award for it. In my role as an MP I am constantly inspired by people across our town who help others so selflessly. So I feel this award is not just for me, but for everyone who volunteers and works for our community who inspire me everyday.
"Thank you to the organisers for this incredible award and for putting together such an inspiring event.“
The awards ceremony took place in the House of Lords and included a keynote speech from Nick Kochan, the internationally respected author and investigative journalist and included dignitaries and high profile delegates from across the world including Ambassador Sarafadeen Tunji Isola, the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
The Euroknowledge Leadership award celebrates outstanding achievements made in all sectors from Governance to Philanthropy, Entertainment, Health, Agriculture, Information technology, Aviation, Construction, Hospitality, and many other sectors.
