On the 6th May, the eyes of the world will be on the United Kingdom as we witness the first Coronation of a British Monarch since 1953.
In Watford and across the United Kingdom, local people will gather to take part in celebrations to mark this momentous occasion. Westminster Abbey will be the location to see our Monarch be crowned alongside the Queen Consort Camilla. The ceremony will continue on The Mall and Buckingham Palace.
Dean Russell MP has launched a competition for young people aged between 3 – 12 years. They will be asked to design a Coronation Card fit for a King! The winning card will be printed and sent on behalf of Watford to The Palace to offer our very best wishes to His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort for their unwavering and diligent service to the UK and the Commonwealth.
To enter, please submit your design on A4 paper. Designs may be emailed to dean.russell.mp@parliament.uk, or posted to Dean Russell MP, The Wenta Business Centre, Colne Way, Watford. WD24 7ND.
Entry is limited to one design per person and all entries must be received by the 3rd April 2023. Entrants must include their full name, age, school and postal address.

“I am delighted to launch this competition as I know we have many talented young artists across our town. My team and I look forward to receiving the entries, and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage our budding young artists to enter. I am really looking forward to the Coronation and supporting local community events on the day. It is going to be a historic day that we will all remember.”
