Local MP Dean Russell welcomed government Minister Mims Davies MP to Watford to show her the work of Watford-based charity One Vision, and to meet their senior team and volunteers.
Mims Davies is the Minister for Social Mobility, Youth and Progression within the Department for Works and Pensions. Her ministerial responsibilities include support for disadvantaged groups, childcare, the cost of living and Housing Benefit strategy and delivery.
Founded in August 2018, One Vision is a community-based, registered charity that provides practical support to vulnerable individuals and families. The charity brings together people from different cultural backgrounds to address the needs of the community.
They have developed initiatives in areas such as food poverty, mental health, social marginalisation, and youth needs. They work collaboratively with a number of local businesses, community groups, non-profits, and charities to gain positive outcomes for the wider community.
Their Founder Enoch Kanagaraj commented that “It is great for Minister Mims Davies MP to see and hear about the excellent work One Vision has been doing in Watford and beyond. I am so glad to have the opportunity to discuss about the benefits of young people volunteering and how to attract young people to volunteer. we also discussed about One Vision Community connectors programme.”

I have worked very closely with One Vision since the start of the pandemic on number of their important initiatives, and I was delighted that they had the opportunity to show the Minister how much they achieved in recent years. One Vision has done some really great work in preventing food waste and also supporting people through the cost-of-living crisis.”
