Local MP Dean Russell hosted a drop-in surgery in the Mencap café located in Watford Central Library to meet with residents and give them the opportunity to raise any questions or concerns with him.
MPs of all parties regularly hold surgeries in their constituency to give residents an opportunity to speak to them about matters of concern, both local and parliamentary. Dean Russell MP holds drop-in surgeries in all corners of the town to allow as many local people as possible to flag any issues or comments they may have.
Dean Russell said “Surgery appointments are something that I really enjoy and find incredibly useful. I want to be accessible to all and visible across the constituency. It is my job to represent and support local residents with any issues that they may have, and when I was elected I pledged to be accessible. My team and I have completed more than 20,000 pieces of casework for local residents and whilst we cannot always resolve every issue, we will certainly do our best to ensure you receive advice and signposting.”
Recently I have heard a lot of comments about fly-tipping during these drop-in surgeries and this is something I will be raising further with the relevant authorities. I would like to thank everyone that took the time to stop for a chat and to share feedback. I hold similar sessions regularly across Watford and if you would like to find out more please contact my office.
Thank you also to the team at the MENCAP café. I am proud to be a supporter of the Café in the Library. They not only raise vital funds for Watford Mencap, but also mentor and train people with learning disabilities, empowering them to be active part of the local Watford workforce.”
