I was so pleased to be invited to attend a NATO debate at Watford Grammar School for Boys.
I sat on a panel alongside Dr Martin Folly (Senior lecturer for Brunel University) Sophie Bolt (Vice-Chair of CND) and Keith MacDougall (Ex-BBC journalist.)
Panellists were asked for their view on NATO’s role during the Cold War, NATO’s current role in Ukraine and their effectiveness at deescalating tensions and promoting diplomacy. There was also time at the end for an audience Q&A.
I would like to congratulate the pupils at Watford Boys Grammar for putting together such a well-organised debate on a very important topic. It was great to see the pupils so engaged and taking such an interest in current affairs. It was a really interesting debate and I enjoyed meeting my fellow panellists.
