The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) has worked hard to receive the prestigious bronze level Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark by the British Dyslexia Association.
This recognition reflects EEAST's commitment to providing high-quality education and support for individuals with dyslexia. EEAST is the first ambulance trust to achieve this award, and they are actively working toward the silver award as part of their Inclusivity Plan.
To coincide with this achievement and in celebration of Dyslexia Awareness Week, which takes place from 2-8 October, EEAST has officially signed the British Dyslexia Association Workplace Pledge. By doing so, they reaffirm their dedication to increasing awareness about dyslexia, challenging stigma, discrimination, and prejudice.
In their pursuit of the Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark, EEAST has implemented several measures, including raising awareness about dyslexia among lecturer practitioners, managers, and students. They have also conducted screenings for dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties and introduced adjustments to assessments and the recruitment process to ensure inclusivity.
EEAST's recognition demonstrates their ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for all employees.
Dean commented, "The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) has demonstrated exceptional dedication in achieving the prestigious bronze level Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark by the British Dyslexia Association.
