Dean Russell, Member of Parliament for Watford, welcomed representatives from My Local News for a tour of Parliament, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the heart of British politics. The visit included attendance at the renowned Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs). This is the weekly event where MP’s across the House question the Prime Minister on current issues.
The day began with a comprehensive tour of the historic Parliament building, where the local news team had the opportunity to explore the iconic Westminster Hall, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Dean was delighted to showcase the environment where he represents the interests of his constituents in Watford and provided insights into the inner workings of UK politics.
Annabel Stock, from My Local News, expressed her thanks for the opportunity and said, ‘My colleague Darius and I had a fantastic day being toured around parliament and attending PMQs - it was a fascinating insight into the inner workings of UK politics. Afterwards, we had the chance to meet Dean Russell MP and to learn more about his role as the MP for Watford. Thank you to Dean for this wonderful opportunity.’
Dean said, ‘I was really pleased to spend time with both Annabel and Darius from My Local News in Parliament. I’m really pleased that they had the chance to witness the dynamics of PMQ’s and also to have a tour of this historic building where so many decisions are made’.
