Residents from Watford once again supported the popular annual race for Watford MENCAP as it returned to Cassiobury Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
People of all ages were invited to take part in the event which raises vital funds and awareness for such a good cause. This local charity works so hard to support the lives of people with additional needs and their families.
The 10k and 1k Fun Run welcomed participants of every age and fitness level, with Dean and the Local Mayor starting off the races and presenting the medals together. Every person who entered received a special event medal to thank them for taking part.
Following the race, Dean said, ‘This event, organised by Watford Mencap, is really enjoyed by participants and spectators alike. It is great to see so many people turn out today, whilst enjoying the beautiful setting of Cassiobury Park. I would like to put on record my sincere thanks to the brilliant staff team who organised the race, and to their dedicated team of volunteers who help to sell raffle tickets, act as course marshals and offer general support’.
