This evening, the Prime Minister has announced a General Election on July 4th this year.
Having been elected as the Member of Parliament for Watford in December 2019, much has happened since then, which is over and above usual political circumstances. A global pandemic, war in Europe and Brexit at the tip of the iceberg. However, during this turbulent time, I have delivered on my campaign promises, including:
• secured full funding for Watford General Hospital
• secured a new police station and reduced crime
• delivered my ambitious goal to deliver 1000 trainees in Mental Health First Aid Awareness across Watford
• secured over £5m funding to tackle rough sleeping in Watford
• gained royal assent for my Tips Bill ensuring hospitality workers not just in Watford, retain all of their tips
• put politics aside to secure the £16m Levelling Up Fund for the Colosseum & Town Hall
* secured Zach’s Law to ban online epilepsy trolling
•and much more…
I look forward to going to the electorate on a track record of delivery and to share my ambitious agenda of new pledges for the future of Watford. Local residents have seen first-hand that I have worked hard and consistently for our great community, and with their vote, I will continue to do so.
So if Watford wants to continue to have a passionate, experienced, representative in Westminster that is true to his word, puts Watford first and delivers on bold action with a clear plan for the town, vote to re-elect Dean Russell on July 4th.
