Dean Russell MP was delighted to attend the opening of Watford’s additional Job Centre today. During the visit he took the opportunity to extend his thanks and sincere appreciation to the staff who have worked so hard during the pandemic to assist many people in the local area, many whom had never approached a Job Centre previously. A new lease was signed on the St Albans Road site to meet increases in demand for DWP’s services due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new centre is part of a national steer which will increase capacity to provide more face-to-face appointments in a safe environment to those unable to contact the DWP via the phone or digitally; playing a key role in helping the local economy recover through supporting people into work. The existing Job Centre Plus on Exchange Road remains unaffected by the new additional site.
Dean said, ‘I was pleased to learn more about the fantastic Work Coaches who are offering more face-to-face appointments, in a covid secure environment. Every conversation will help to secure residents into training and employment post pandemic’. Dean continued, ‘I would urge anyone in Watford looking for employment to book an appointment with a Work Coach. They are highly trained and have a wealth of experience in helping people find work. They also help with interview techniques, CV writing and have lots of other useful advice.'
