On Sunday 12th September, Dean Russell attended a Battle of Britain Remembrance Service at the Church of St Lawrence in Abbots Langley and laid a wreath in memory of those who lost their lives in that battle to protect our freedoms.
The Remembrance Service was organised by The Abbots and Kings Langley Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association, who kindly invited Dean Russell, Gagan Mohindra MP, and other dignitaries to commemorate the Battle of Britain. It was one part of the national Royal Air Forces Wings Appeal, which has also involved members carrying out street collections in Abbots Langley and Kings Langley during this week.
Watford’s MP said: “I would like to thank Wing Commander Philip Buttery, who is the Chairman of the Abbots and Kings Langley Branch, for kindly inviting me to this event. The service was so poignant and gave us all time to reflect on the courage and selflessness of those who fought in that Battle 81 years ago; it is thanks to their bravery that we have so many freedoms today.”
