Dean Russell welcomed the government’s announcement that local projects in Hertfordshire will be receiving £3.2 million from the UK Community Renewal Fund.
The UK’s Community Renewal Fund is a government initiative that aims to invest in local communities and help build the safer, greener, and more neighbourly country that we all want to see following the COVID-19 pandemic. It focuses on empowering local places to explore how best to tackle local challenges as part of the government’s manifesto commitment to level up the country.
Four projects from across Hertfordshire were successful in their bids for these grants. They are Hertfordshire Opportunity Generator, STEM City, Community Wealth Building Together, and a grant for driving creative innovation and culture-led regeneration through the film industry.
Following the announcement, Dean said: “I am so pleased that Hertfordshire will be receiving over £3 million from the Government Community Renewal Fund. As the Chairman of the Film and Production All Party Parliamentary Group I am particularly pleased that over £800,000 has been given to support the Hertfordshire’s film industry, which will ensure that this great sector will continue to thrive.”
