Watford MP Dean Russell volunteered at a ‘Christmas Give Back’ session which has been organised by Fresh Ego FC, in partnership with local charity Clean Herts Community.
Fresh Ego FC aims to raise awareness surrounding mental health and racism in football by bring together top talent from sport and music. Clean Herts, set up by Anthony Joshua, is a charity which works to find ways to empower the youth and give back to Watford.
They have joined forces for this years ‘Christmas Give Back’ with support from Wenzels, Watford FC, USM, Cadburys and more. Volunteers have spent time packing donations into hampers and gifts which will be distributed to around 350 Watford families and children this Christmas.
This is the third year of the Christmas Give back and 2022 is more poignant as it marks the one-year anniversary of founder and ex-footballer Marvin Morgan's passing at just 38 years old. Fresh Ego FC are striving to keep not only his memory but his work and message alive.
Dean said “I have often said that one of Watford’s strengths is its sense of community. It was fantastic to see both of these charities join forces to help those that are struggling at this time. I am very grateful to everyone that donated money, goods or their time to support this community initiative.”
