Dean Russell visited One YMCA’s new Woodlands Café located in Leavesden Country Park in Watford.
One YMCA is a Christian charity that has been based in Hertfordshire for 135 years. They work with people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds to deliver a range of programmes and services that tackle the issues facing local people.
In September 2021 One YMCA opened their new Woodlands Café, which is a not-for-profit initiative and the money raised by the café will be reinvested back into the charity to support people across Hertfordshire. During his visit, Dean was given a tour of the place and met with different members of One YMCA’s team to learn more about how this new enterprise supports the important work that they do to support a range of people in our local area.
After his visit, Dean said: “It was good to have the opportunity to visit One YMCA’s new Woodlands Café and to speak with some of the café’s dedicated staff to learn more about how they put sustainability and community at the heart of all that they do. I have worked with the wonderful team at One YMCA on multiple occasions since becoming the MP for Watford and it is great to see them finding new ways to help those in our community.”
