I was pleased to speak with Professor Kristian Helin, Chief Executive of the Institute of Cancer Research, about their new strategy 'Defeating Cancer'. We discussed childhood cancer, the complexity of cancerous cells and their ability to evade drugs, and the importance of data sharing to find new innovations.
After speaking with constituents who have shared their own stories with me, questioning experts during my time as a member of the Health & Social Care Committee and through my own personal experiences, I know the life-changing effects Cancer can have to individuals and families.
The UK is a Science Superpower thanks to the high quality academic research centres we have, like the ICR.
