Dean Russell MP sat on the Health & Social Care Select Committee yesterday. Dean first asked some questions to James Wilkinson, a man who suffered three separate cancellations to his heart operation during the pandemic. He asked about James' anxiety and feelings during the ordeal and whether anything could be improved.
He then talked with Professor Neil Mortensen (President at Royal College of Surgeons), Dr Andrew Goddard (President at Royal College of Physicians), Dr Katherine Henderson (President at Royal College of Emergency Medicine) and Anita Charlesworth (Director at Research and REAL Centre, the Health Foundation) about how best to clear the backlog caused by the pandemic, and whether technology can help.
