In front of the committee today were Professor Sir Martin Landray, Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology & Deputy Director of Oxford University’s Big Data Institute at University of Oxford, and Nicola Perrin, Director of policy and public affairs at Association of Medical Research Charities. In the second session, they were joined by Lord Bethell, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at Department for Health and Social Care, and Simon Bolton, Interim CEO at NHS Digital. Dean asked them about the anonymization of personal data collected by the NHS and how best to keep that safe from third parties.
